One of the hardest parts of running a tax preparation business is being the fall guy. While most clients are easy to work with, a small percentage can make your life hell. These clients bring you the messes they get themselves into to fix. But they behave as if it is your fault they are in in a mess. They ask questions in the course of the interview, hear what they want to hear, and years later they dredge it up as the gospel truth. They procrastinate for months getting you info and then expect you to have it done tomorrow. Dealing with these clients is part of the job but it is not pleasant to live through. All you can do is remain calm, helpful and professional on the outside while on the inside you are imagining yourself as Donald Trump saying - "You're Fired!" It doesn't relieve all the frustration but it does help. As for the remaining frustration, does anyone know a good mail-order voodoo course?
