Second Weekend For Arsenic and Old Lace

This is the second weekend for WCT's production of Arsenic and Old Lace. Written by Joseph Kesselring, this hilarious comedy is centered around the Brewster sisters. They are two of the nicest elderly ladies you would care to meet. The only problem is that they have taken to putting lonely old men out of their misery with a glass of elderberry wine laced with arsenic. When one nephew finds out about their "charity" and a second nephew arrives after a long absence, things get very frantic and funny.
For more information about the show, please check the Arsenic and Old Lace page on the Winfield Community Theatre web site. Ticket Information

Auditions For Grace and Glorie

Auditions for Grace and Glorie will be held August 30 and 31 at 7PM in the Winfield Community Theatre in Meyer Hall on Baden Square. Directed by David Andreas, Grace and Glorie is the heartwarming story of two women who come together as they are dealing with death. Grace is a feisty, elderly cancer patient who has checked herself out of the hospital and returned to her cottage in the Blue Ridge Mountains to die alone. Glorie appears as a hospice volunteer. She is tense, unhappy, and guilt ridden because her only child was killed in an auto accident and she was the driver. As Glorie attempts to comfort and care for the cantankerous Grace, she gains a new perspective on values and what is really important in life. The play will be presented October 22, 23, 29, 30, 2004.

Sgt. Jim's Toy Box

WCT veteran Jim Karasek's reserve unit has been called to Iraq. He is concerned about the children in that war torn country not having toys to play with. We are looking for small toys for both boys and girls for Jim to take with him. We will have drop off boxes at the theatre during Arsenic and Old Lace for anyone who wishes to contribute a toy.
