John Steinbeck’s
dramatization of his classic novel is Winfield Community Theatre’s next show.
“Of Mice and Men”. A story about dreams and lonely lives, “Of Mice and Men” is
the story of two ranch hands, George and Lennie. What sets them apart is their
friendship and their dream of one day having a farm of their own and living off
the "fat of the land". Lennie is a man-child, a little boy in the body
of a dangerously powerful man. It's Lennie's obsessions with things soft and
cuddly, that have made George cautious about who the gentle giant associates
with.
According to director Trish McIntire, the cast “Of Mice and Men” is exceptionally
strong. “We were very lucky to get some of the best performers in the area for
‘Of Mice and Men’. WCT does not get the opportunity to do a drama like this
very often and their participation will make this production an event not to
miss.” The cast includes
David Andreas as George and Ron Jordan as Lennie. The rest
of the cast includes; Rich
Bicker, Emily Barnhill,
Larry Junker, Dr. David Schmiedler, Luke Schmidt, Tom Schmiedler and Daniel Simpson. Bill Flippo is the Stage Manager.
Simply staged in the Winfield

“Of Mice and Men” is a
beautiful story of true friendship and the need for dreams. However, it is not
suitable for all audiences due to language and violence.
