WCT has a little break before our next 2010-11 production, Larry Shue's comedy The Foreigner. The show is set for November 12, 13, 19 and 20. But planning has begun and auditions have been set for September 20 and 21 from 7pm to 8:30pm at the WCT in Meyer Hall.
Set in a fishing lodge in rural Georgia, The Foreigner is about a painfully shy man who pretends to be a foreigner who speaks no English so he doesn't have to talk to strangers. Instead of being left alone, Charlie finds himself to be the center of attention - both good and bad. He stumbles on a plot to cheat the lodge owner out of her home and uses his "Foreigness" to defeat the bad guys.
The Foreigner has 7 speaking roles, 2 female and 5 male (all adults), and several walkons. Auditions are open to everyone. If you want to get involve but not act, we are always looking for help backstage or during rehearsals. For more information, please contact the director Trish McIntire at 620-442-6227 or by e-mail wct67156 at winfieldcommtheatre.com.
If you can't make the September 20 or 21 dates, please contact Trish for an alternate time.
